Chelsea news as the Blues look to climb further up the Premier League table with a win over the Bees
Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping that the international break will have given his side some much-needed rest as he looks to welcome back a few more stars ahead of their clash with Brentford this weekend.
Captain Reece James made his long-awaited return against Arsenal last weekend, with the star having been out since the opening weekend clash against Liverpool with a hamstring issue. He made a cameo appearance alongside striker Nicolas Jackson whose wrist surgery meant limited minutes for him after the international break.
There are more potential returnees though, with defenders Benoit Badiashile and Axel Disasi hoping to make their own comebacks. Badiashile is yet to play under Pochettino since his arrival at the club but has been in senior training over the last few weeks and was named on the bench against the Gunners.
Disasi is another who could see a return after a knock to his quad during the break meant his run of eight straight starts to begin the season was broken. He's also been back in training and could feature in this weekend's match against the Bees.
Armando Broja could be set for a spell off the bench after returning from a serious knee injury a few weeks ago. He appeared to have gone down with a knock before last weekend's clash meaning he missed out but was spotted in training again this week giving supporters hope he can continue his form in front of goal after scoring against Fulham earlier this month.
Unfortunately for the Blues, Carney Chukwuemeka and Trevoh Chalobah were both hit with setbacks in their separate recoveries meaning they're certain to miss out this weekend. Ben Chilwell and Romeo Lavia are two more stars that won't be able to play as the recover from injury.
Christopher Nkunku has however been giving Blues supporters hope of an early return from a serious knee injury he suffered during preseason. The star was set to be a vital part of Pochettino's plans to start the season but has been sidelined and will stay there until at least early December.
However, he has shared numerous photos and videos of him working out in the gym and staying fit, with the star spotted in the training session yesterday. Wesley Fofana, however, is a certain miss for tomorrow with the star still recovering from his own knee problems.
