The Super Eagles were ranked 40th in the world last month, and their position remained unchanged in October's ranking.
Nigeria remain unchanged in latest FIFA ranking
Nigeria played two games in the October international window against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique in Portugal.
The three-time African champions played a 2-2 draw against the Falcons of Saudi Arabia before beating Mozambique 3-2 in another international friendly.
As a result, they stayed 40th in the world ranking. The Super Eagles also maintained their sixth position on the African continent, behind Morocco (13), Senegal (20), Tunisia (32), Algeria (33), and Egypt (35).
Nigeria ahead of Ivory Coast as Argentina remain on top
But despite their position, Nigeria are still ahead of Ivory Coast, who they will face in next year's AFCON.
The Super Eagles have been drawn against the hosts, Ivory Coast, alongside Equatorial Guinea and Guinea-Bissau in Group A of next year's showpiece.
Ivory Coast are ranked 52nd in the world, while Equatorial Guinea are ranked 91st. Meanwhile, the Wild Dogs of Guinea Bissau are 110th in the world.
The Super Eagles are also ahead of their West African rivals Ghana, who are 60th in the world. Jose Peseiro's men are also ahead of countries like Erlin Haaland's Norway and the Republic of Ireland in the latest ranking.
On the world stage, world champions Argentina remain the top nation in the world, ahead of France, Brazil, England and Belgium, in that order. Portugal, The Netherlands, Spain, Italy and Croatia make the rest of the top ten.
