Mbappe shines as PSG beat AC Milan in Champions League

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) surged to the top of Group F in the Champions League with an impressive win over AC Milan. The French champions are now two points ahead of Borussia Dortmund, who secured a 1-0 victory over Newcastle on Wednesday.

Kylian Mbappe opened the scoring for PSG in the 32nd minute, unleashing a powerful shot into the bottom corner. In the second half, Randal Kolo Muani and Lee Kang-in added two more goals, securing all three points for PSG.

Mbappe, who has now scored 13 goals in 13 matches for both PSG and the French national team this season, capitalized on a brilliant run by 17-year-old Warren Zaire-Emery, catching Milan's goalkeeper, Mike Maignan, off guard with a strike from the edge of the box.

Although Luis Enrique's side dominated, they thought they had doubled their lead in the 48th minute when Ousmane Dembele's exquisite curling finish was disallowed by the video assistant referee due to a foul in the build-up.

Five minutes later, PSG netted their second goal after Dembele's shot was saved by Maignan, only for Kolo Muani to tap in the rebound.

As the 2020 finalists finished strongly, Maignan made a spectacular save, tipping a late strike from Mbappe onto the post.

Substitute Lee Kang-in put the finishing touch on the victory with a well-placed side-footed strike, following more impressive play from the teenager Zaire-Emery.

AC Milan, on the other hand, continues to struggle in the Champions League this season, occupying the bottom spot in Group F with just two points from their first three matches.
