The coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Jose Peseiro is open to the idea of having new players in the team ahead of the start of the world cup qualifiers in November and also the Africa Cup of Nations next year.
Peseiro who insist he has an idea of the team he will be taking to the Africa Cup of Nations next year and also the players for next month World Cup qualifiers games against Lesotho and Zimbabwe respectively, he is still willing to have new players.
Speaking of which he was told of the eligibility of Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones to play for Nigeria, and he didn't mince words in saying having him around will be great and urged him to consider the option especially with his lack of invitation by England.
Jones is eligible for Nigeria through his grandparents and even though he has played for England at various youth levels, he is still eligible for Nigeria with no senior international cap to his name so far.
" If he wants to come here which I think he should because he isn't in the plans of England then I will be happy. We have good players in our team, and he will enjoy it here, but we have to be sure he wants it here and if indeed he is eligible for us. The quality is there for all to see".
