Senate President Godswill Akpabio advised the newly confirmed head of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr Ola Olukoyede, on Wednesday not to use him as an example in the battle against corruption.
Akpabio's remark, which made the entire House laugh, occurred during the Senate's screening of Olukoyede, according to Newsmen.
Olukoyede quoted the Senate President during a presentation on probing a graft case but abruptly stopped after noting the mood of the lawmakers.
"If we are investigating the Senate President for example..." Olukoyede stated but was unable to finish his statement due to the mood of the Lawmakers.
"I'm very glad that the nominee wants to use the Senate President as an example," Akpabio responded. But, Mr. Nominee, set aside the Senate President for the time being and gaze in this direction (pointing to the seats of opposition Lawmakers)."
