Sheikh Jassim planned three huge transfers to transform Man United before pulling out of takeover race

Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani's dream transfer shortlist has been revealed on the back of his withdrawal from the Manchester United takeover race.

On Saturday evening, it was reported that Sheikh Jassim and his Qatari consortium have pulled out of the race to buy the Old Trafford club.

As a result, British billionaire and INEOS boss Sir Jim Ratcliffe is now set to agree a deal to buy a 25 per cent stake at United.

It was then reported that Sheikh Jassim made a last-ditch attempt to strike a deal with the Glazers but failed to do so.

On the back of the Qatari's decision to pull out of the takeover race, United have reportedly been denied three world-class stars.

According to German news outlet BILD(via The Sun), Sheikh Jassim was planning a move for Paris Saint Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe.

The Frenchman's current contract with PSG is set to expire at the end of the season and looks likely to join Real Madrid.

Despite that, Sheikh Jassim was hoping to use his financial power to lure Mbappe away from Madrid.

The report also claimed that the Qatari banker was targeting two of Mbappe's international teammates.

Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga and Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman were on Sheikh Jassim's dream transfer shortlist.

A move for either player would have been tough as their respective contracts are valid until 2027.

Prior to his move to Spain, Camavinga was on United's radar when he was still playing for French side Rennes.

Now, it is likely that he will play a key role in Madrid's midfield with the likes of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric getting towards the latter stages of their careers.
