Cole Palmer, Moises Caicedo and Deivid Washington have all dropped team news hints ahead of Chelsea's clash against Brighton in the Carabao Cup third round. The Blues will welcome Roberto De Zerbi's side to Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night as Mauricio Pochettino looks to return to winning ways.

Ahead of what is expected to be a closely contested battle, the aforementioned trio have posted pre-match graphic previews of the tie to their respective Instagram stories - which, historically, suggests that they will be involved in some capacity. Thiago Silva, Raheem Sterling, Armando Broja and Enzo Fernandez have also done the same.

With the west Londoners in desperate need of a victory, Pochettino could be inclined to fill his starting lineup with considerable firepower. Ahead of the game, the 51-year-old explained just how important the Carabao Cup is for Chelsea - especially without European football in the calendar.

"It is one of our objectives in the season," said Pochettino. "We need to think it is one opportunity to win a trophy. Of course maybe the feelings aren't the best after defeat on Sunday but it's about giving the players the confidence and the trust to change our mood.

"Yesterday and today we were talking a lot and we were trying to bring more confidence to the team but I think we are going to be ready tomorrow."

Then, Pochettino was asked what a win against the Seagulls could do for Chelsea's depleted confidence. He replied: "I know that we are in Chelsea and that we need to talk about many things but I think it is easy analysis. We are playing well, we have too many good things, very positive things, it's only that we are not clinical in front of the goal.

"That is what we need to fix and try to give more confidence to our offensive players. That is the responsibility of everyone. I think in all of the data, we are positive, it is only this. The problem is the most important thing is to score goals."

While the likes of Palmer, Caicedo and Washington have all posted pre-match previews of the Brighton fixture to their social media profiles, it does not necessarily mean both will start. However, it usually means that they will be involved in some capacity.
