Domino's estimate how many pizza's they've delivered since Chelsea last scored a goal

Chelsea failed to score for a third consecutive game in Sunday's Premier League defeat to Aston Villa as they continued their poor run of form at Stamford Bridge.

Mauricio Pochettino's may have spent £434.5 million on recruits this summer - the most spent by any club during a transfer window in Premier League history - but they've continued to struggle in front of goal.

In fact, the Blues have failed to score a single goal in their last three games, with this weekend's 1-0 loss another timely reminder of their ongoing woes.

Nicolas Jackson, a £32 million pound signing from Villarreal, has netted just one league goal in six, while Christopher Nkunku - another summer addition - could be out until December after undergoing knee surgery.

It has been a testing time for Chelsea, who sit in 14th with one win - and last weekend's disappointing defeat inspired many to pounce on their struggles, including Domino's Pizza.

That's right. The popular American restaurant chain decided to have a pop at the Premier League strugglers by 'estimating' how many pizza's they've delivered since Chelsea last scored a goal.

And they posted the same tweet twice on Sunday afternoon.

Firstly, the company responded to Chelsea's account after they updated fans about Ollie Watkins' 73rd minute winner, saying: "We've delivered about 852,609 pizzas since Chelsea last scored a goal."

And around 20 minutes later, Domino's wrote the same tweet on their official account, with their post receiving over 4.3 million impressions at the time of writing.

One fan responded to the posts, saying: "Domino's are mocking us. I don't recognise my club anymore."

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino gave his take on their latest defeat in his post-match press conference.

"We need to grow up like a team, not only in an individual way," he said. "I think players like Nico who are so young and feeling the Premier League, they need time.

"In this type of game, we are competing and want to win and football is about winning. But also players, when they are young, need to learn, and experience and make mistakes.

"That's why we feel disappointed as there are too many situations like this."

Pochettino would also refuse to blame VAR or the referee for their latest setback before saying: "We need to act in a different way."
