It was indeed an amazing week of football action in the English Premier League matchday six as we got to witness great performances from several teams in the competition. Topsides like Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool all had amazing outings in the competition as they bagged important wins from their respective matches. It was a totally different case for Chelsea who were defeated 1-0 by Aston Villa at their very own home ground.
Acknowledging the great performances of some teams in the competition is necessary but we also have to applaud the amazing displays from some players that contributed heavily to their respective team's wins.
Well, in today's article, I will be sharing the Premier League team of the week consisting of the best players in the matchday six of the competition. Let's take a look.
Goalkeeper: Andre Onana.
The Man United Goalkeeper kept a clean sheet in the competition this week after making four brilliant saves against Burnley to prevent his side from conceding a goal.
Centre-Backs: James Tarkowski (Everton) and, Vigil Van Dijk (Liverpool).
Vigil Van Dijk was in superb form for Liverpool as he showed his defensive brilliance and also provided an assist to one of Liverpool's three goals against West Ham United. James Tarkowski on the other hand scored an important goal for Everton to aid their victory over Brentford in the competition.
Full-Backs: Kieran Trippier (Newcastle United) and Josko Gvardiol (Man City)
Kieran Trippier showed his creative side in the competition by providing three lovely assists in Newcastle United's massive 8-0 win over Sheffield United. Josko Gvardiol on the other hand assisted Manchester City greatly in defense to neutralize the threat from Nottingham Forest's attackers in the game.
Midfielders: Bruno Fernandes (Man Utd) and Bruno Guimarāes (Newcastle United).
Bruno Fernandes scored the only goal in the game that handed Manchester United an important 1-0 victory over Burnley. Bruno Guimarāes on the other hand controlled the midfield area for Newcastle United brilliantly as he scored a goal and provided an assist in the team's convincing win over Sheffield United.
Forwards: Kaoru Mitoma (Brighton), Son Heung-Min (Tottenham), Mohamed Salah and Bukayo Saka (Arsenal).
Kaoru Mitoma netted two important goals to aid Brighton's 3-1 comeback victory over Bournemouth. Son Heung-Min also netted two goals for Tottenham to make sure they held Arsenal to a 2-2 draw in the north London derby. Mohamed Salah heavily contributed to Liverpool's attacking plays in the game as he scored a goal in the team's 3-1 win over West Ham United. Bukayo Saka on the other hand contributed a lot to Arsenal's attack against Tottenham as he scored a goal and also forced an own goal from Cristian Romero.
