I Think It Is a Dumb Policy to Borrow Money to Shore Up the Value of a Currency - Madaki Ameh

The Managing Partner and the CEO of BBH Consulting, Madaki Ameh, has stated that it is not proper for Nigeria to borrow money in other to shore up the Naira. Madaki Ameh made this known during an interview with Arise Television.

While speaking to some journalists in the interview, Madaki Ameh said, "first of all, I think that it is a dumb policy to borrow money to shore up the value of the currency because it is a needless shock to the economy."

"This is a broke country and in our broken state, somebody is borrowing money in other to shore up the value of the naira. You and I know that the value of the naira cannot be shored up in any artificial way. That is another needless exposure that the country is going through."

Madaki Ameh made this statement in reaction to the news that the NNPCL struck a deal to get $3 billion to shore up the naira.
