Thiago Silva has been begged by Chelsea supporters to re-evaluate his priorities after he expressed disappointment at not being in the Champions League.
Chelsea failed to qualify for the Champions League after a disappointing 2022/2023 season which saw them end up in 11th position on the Premier League table.
Silva has made 106 appearances in the Champions League, winning it once in 2021 while playing for Chelsea.
However, he shared a tweet about how unhappy is not being able to play in the ongoing Champions League tournament which has led to fans asking him to delete his tweet.
Thiago Silva tweet on X
The 38-year-old defender tweeted about the Champions League and included a crying emoticon to express how much he has missed the tournament since it began yesterday.
Thiago Silva's tweet on X says, as reported by the Sun, "@ChampionsLeague 😥"
The one-time Champions League winner will not feature in the ongoing Champions League tournament this season.
Fans responded to Thiago Silva's tweet by suggesting that before they can imagine participating in the Champions League once more, he needs to care about improving his form.
One fan tweeted, "We have a relegation battle to worry about king."
While another fan wrote, "Thiago Silva delete this!"
A third sarcastically said, "Project 2030" as he suggested that would be the next time Chelsea would be competing in the competition.
Despite fans calling for the tweet to be deleted, Silva has now pinned the tweet, apparently in retaliation for the taunting.
Meanwhile, Chelsea has only won one of their five Premier League games so far, continuing their terrible performance from the previous season.
