Trevoh Chalobah told to 'sit comfortably' and make Chelsea pay as fans rage over brutal reports

Chelsea fans have again been left upset with the club's transfer strategy amid reports over academy graduate Trevoh Chalobah.

The Sierra Leone-born England youth international has impressed since breaking into the Blue's first team in 2021, but his senior Stamford Bridge career may be short lived, despite being with the club since 2007.

Chalobah was the subject of much transfer speculation towards the end of the summer window, with both Bayern Munich and Nottingham Forest reportedly chasing the highly-rated centre back.

However, neither move came to fruition, with the 24-year-old rejecting a £25million move to Forest on deadline day, according to the Daily Telegraph.

Now further reports claim that Chalobah faces exile until the January transfer window opens, and has been told to play with the U23s.

Both Football.London and the Evening Standard report that the defender has been told there's a chance he won't play for the club again ahead of a winter move away.

That decision has baffled many fans, with Chalobah signing a new long-term contract with Chelsea in November, extending his current deal until 2028, with an optional extra year.

Chalobah would become the fifth Chelsea youth team product to depart the club to fund the other incomings this season, with Mason Mount, Lewis Hall, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ruben Loftus-Cheek all departing.

Responding to the news, one Twitter account dedicated to Chelsea's youth team wrote: "Less than a year since he signed a new long-term contract. Sit comfortably Trev, make them honour that deal."

Another Blues fan echoed those thoughts, writing: "The owners need questioning. [Axel] Disasi isn't a huge upgrade on Chalobah, the difference in price tag is insane compared to the quality."

A third added: "Unless something happened behind the scenes with his attitude that we don't know about, Chelsea's treatment of Trevoh Chalobah is dreadful.

"He's been a very dependable, underrated player who has never kicked up a fuss when not played and now we're dropping him to the 21s just because we couldn't find a transfer?"
