No strikers are safe from terrible misses and these might be the 10 worst missed goals in the Premier League history
The Premier League has been replete with an abundance of attacking talents who have scored incredible goals to light up the English top flight, but even the best strikers have had bad days.
Premier League lists 10 horrific misses
The Premier League celebrated its not-so-lucky attackers with a compilation of ten incredible misses featuring some of the most famous names in the league's history, which it posted on its social media channels.
Unbelievable open-goal blunders and shocking moments of panic from players who would otherwise be revered by fans just go to show that they are indeed humans, with blood flowing through their veins.
Some of the more famous names in the top 10 include Manchester City's Sergio Aguero, who, despite scoring 184 times for the Cityzens, was victim to a moment of madness against Chelsea, as well as Nigerian sensation Kanu Nwankwo and future Ballon d'Or winner Luka Modric.
Biggest misses in the Premier League
The most famous miss in the compilation is perhaps Fernando Torres' open-goal miss against Manchester United in the early days of his Chelsea career, which has been immortalised in meme culture.
The compilation also features Kanu, during his spell at West Brom, failing to find the back of the net, despite standing less than two feet away from the goal line, as well as an equally poor miss from Manchester City's Raheem Sterling.
Others who were featured in the funny compilation include Leeds' Patrick Bamford, Liverpool's Maxi Rodriguez and Ronny Rosenthal, and Southampton's Shane Long.
