Fans have warned Arsenal's Mikel Arteta about his trust in Kai Havertz after the sacking of German national team coach Hansi Flick
Fans on social media have laid the blame for Hansi Flick's poor spell with the German national team and his eventual sacking on Arsenal's Kai Havertz, who has seen several managerial casualties during his career.
Flick fired from Germany job
Former Germany manager, Flick, was relieved of his post as Die Mannschaft's gaffer yesterday, following a shocking run of one win in six games, ending with a scandalous 4-1 loss to Japan in Germany.
The former Bayern Munich manager was billed to take charge of the German national team at least until the 2024 Euros, hosted in Germany, but his tenure was abruptly ended nine months before the tournament.
After Flick's sacking, fans have drawn parallels between the German manager's sacking and the firing of other managers who have put their trust in Havertz in the past, especially during his spell at Chelsea.
Fans warn Arteta about Havertz jinx
At the announcement of Flick's sacking, many quickly realised that Havertz had been involved in the sackings of managers, including Frank Lampard, Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter, and now the former Bavarian master.
Given the parallels being drawn, fans have now questioned whether Arsenal's Arteta, who has also shown faith in the German, will be the next victim of the Havertz curse.
Havertz has struggled to adapt since his summer move to Arsenal, and while Arteta has backed him to get over a difficult period, fans are still divided over the former Chelsea midfielder.
