Manchester United fans are purring about Bruno Fernandes after his outstanding assist on international duty with Portugal.
The midfielder was selected to represent his country in their Euro 2024 qualifier against Luxembourg during the international break after a mixed start to the season at Old Trafford.
Fernandes scored and assisted in the 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest but was quiet in their last outing, a 3-1 defeat to Arsenal.
Despite having a limited impact at the Emirates Stadium, he proved his quality once again at the Estadio Algarve for Portugal.
In the 12th minute, he was on hand to assist Goncalo Inacio for the opener, doing it in some style as he used the outside of his right foot to guide a cross onto the head of the defender.
Fernandes has proven key throughout much of his time at United and fans have been quick to hail his skill once again.
Taking to X, one supporter had incredibly high praise, saying: "We have the best midfielder in the world."
"He is the best midfielder in the world no questions asked," another said in agreement.
A third was also keen to laud the 29-year-old, saying: "Best attacking midfielder in the world at it again."
"Best midfielder in the world by a mile," said a fourth, with many in the belief that he is the best of the best.
Fernandes proved in their 1-0 win over Slovakia on Friday that he can also score himself as he netted his 16th international goal.
He turned provider for Inacio once again at the end of the first half and bagged his third assist early in the second for a hat-trick.
Portugal are sitting pretty at the top of their Euro 2024 qualifying group with a 100 per cent record from their opening five matches.
