President of the United States of America Joe Biden has expressed admiration for President Bola Tinubu's commitment to defending and preserving democracy in West Africa.
During their meeting on the sidelines of the G-20 summit in New Delhi, Biden commended Tinubu's leadership style as chair of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
He also highlighted the role he played in maintaining stability and democratic principles in Niger and the broader region.
The statement on the White House official website reads" President Joe Biden met with Nigerian President Bola Tinubu today on the sidelines of the G20 in New Delhi, India to reinforce our enduring commitment to the U.S.-Nigeria relationship and to the longstanding friendship between our two countries and peoples.
"President Biden welcomed the Tinubu Administration's steps to reform Nigeria's economy and thanked President Tinubu for his strong leadership as the chair of the Economic Community of West African States to defend and preserve democracy and the rule of law in Niger and the broader region.
