To many football fans the name Leonardo Campana, a footballer, is one they are not familiar with. He is one of Leo Messi's teammates at Inter Miami who is worth millions though his fortune is not from football.
Campana a young 23-year-old footballer who, after starting his career with Barcelona de Guayaquil, was transferred to Wolves of the English Premier League, but after a back-and-forth between clubs, he ended up on loan to the Florida team.
Campana has participated in the youth national teams of Ecuador, with whom he won a title in the South American Under 20 Championship in 2019; after this achievement, Leo was called up with the senior national team by Hernan Dario Gomez.
His father Pablo Campana was a professional tennis player, who represented his country in the Atlanta 1996 Olympic Games, while his great-grandfather Gabriel was champion six times in the Ecuadorian League.
Likewise, his grandfather Isidro was president of Barcelona de Guayaquil for 15 years, the team that decided to name the stadium after him, as he helped in the construction of the stadium.
It is thanks to his family that Leonardo Campana has a fortune that exceeds one billion euros, according to Corriere dello Sport.
Part of this wealth is due to his grandmother Isabel Noboa, one of the most important businesswomen in Ecuador, as she has agricultural, real estate, industrial, commercial and tourism businesses.
His grandfather, in addition to being involved as a football team manager, was Minister of Foreign Trade and Investments, which gave him great earnings.
