Manchester United have made contact with Chelsea over the possibility of signing Marc Cucurella on loan for their manager Erik ten Hag this summer transfer window.
This shock move comes after Man United lost their two left-backs, Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia to injury.
Recall that Malacia is expected back next month, but there is no return date for Shaw at the moment which is a huge blow for Ten Hag.
Against Nottingham Forest in Saturday's Premier League tie at Old Trafford, Diogo Dalot filled in at left-back but reinforcements even on a short-term basis are desperately needed in that position.
There have been rumours that Man United are looking at signing former Chelsea defender Ryan Bertrand who has been a free agent since leaving Leicester City over the summer.
But according to Fabrizio Romano, Man United have now opened talks to bring Cucurella in as an emergency loan deal this summer.
The Red Devils have asked Chelsea about what the conditions would be to sign the Spain star but the move is in its early days and as such there has been 'no bid or concrete talks yet'.
