Despite their first draw in this Premier League season against Fulham, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta claimed his team was 10 times better than the previous season.
The Gunners failed to make it three wins in a row as they played a draw against ten men Fulham at the Emirate.
Arsenal fell behind in the first minute of the kick-off but rallied back with goals from Bukayo Saka and Eddie Nketiah.
However, Joao Palhinha scored from close range for Fulham in the 87th minute to rescue a 2-2 draw despite Calvin Bassey being sent off from the game.
After the game, Mikel Arteta spoke to the press in a post-match press conference and spoke about how better his team is than last season.
Arteta speaks about the quality of his team
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta during a post-match press conference spoke about his team's performance against Fulham.
He said as reported by BBC, "We go 2-1 up and you have to defend for your life, you cannot concede the goal after everything we have done. We should have scored five, six, seven (goals).
"If I compare the game this season to last season, we were 10 times better than last season. At least 10."
Arteta was pleased with the response from his team after going one goal down very early in the game.
He said, "In the first minute when you make the mistake that we made and you just give a goal to the opponent the game becomes much more difficult.
"The reaction straight after that and the chances we generated, we didn't give anything away. We controlled the game for full periods but we didn't score the goal."
"In the second half we made some changes and the dynamic changed, we had better relationships," Arteta said.
"The subs made a huge difference and had a great impact. I love the determination and the confidence they brought to the team."
