Erling Haaland has been challenged to a race by "the world's sexiest sprinter," Alicia Schmidt, who claims she can outperform him.
Last year, the Man City forward's top speed gave him an advantage and helped him have one of his best playing seasons.
He scored 52 goals in 53 games last season across all competitions thanks in part to his explosiveness and strength.
However, Schmidt, a 400m runner from Germany, insisted that Haaland was no match for her and that she would triumph on the track.
Alica Schmidt challenge Haaland
Alica Schmidt has claimed that Erling Haaland is no match for her if they both run a race on a track.
Schmidt completed the 400-metre race in less than 55 seconds during the World Athletics tournament in Budapest
Haaland's peak speed has reportedly been measured at a distance of 22.5 miles per hour, according to experts.
At the World Athletics Championships in Budapest on August 21, while responding to media inquiries, she had the idea for a race with Haaland.
She was questioned by the Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet as reported by The Sun, if she could defeat Haaland, the nation's favourite, in a race.
Schmidt paused to consider before saying: "Hmm, I don't know - maybe. I think, on 400 metres, yes. On 200 metres, it would be more difficult. But I would be happy if the race takes place."
Asked when the race could happen she said: "I don't know, I have to ask him. But I'm always ready."
Then Alica turned to the cameras to say: "So, Haaland if you're ready to race, I would be happy. Let's see who's faster!"
Alica Schmidt's previous challenge
Alica has faced up against a football player before. Mats Hummels, a former teammate of Haaland's at Borussia Dortmund, was destroyed by the track star two years ago.
The 2014 World Cup champion centre-back from Germany collapsed to the ground following the 400-metre dash on a track in Dortmund, North Rhine-Westphalia.
The Bundesliga star revealed while struggling for air, "Oh my God, this was the worst thing I ever did. I'm so glad I chose football. You make it look so easy."
Alica captioned the YouTube video, "I met with the soccer world champion from 2014 Mats Hummels in Dortmund for a very exciting event.
"It was about which of us can sprint faster over the 400 metres. And it turned out to be one of the most exciting challenges of the year for me and for Mats!"
The track star is a popular figure on social media and has more than four million Instagram followers.
