Ex-Arsenal striker Thierry Henry has come under fire for his recent comments comparing Mikel Arteta to Pep Guardiola.
Thierry Henry has highlighted some interesting similarities between Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta and Manchester City's Pep Guardiola.
Arteta spent three-and-a-half years under Guardiola as assistant manager at Manchester City, winning two Premier League titles in his time there.
Henry calls Arteta 'Mini Pep'
Henry made an appearance on his former teammate David Seaman's podcast and was asked about the similarities between Arteta and Guardiola. The ex-Barcelona man replied:
"He's like a mini Pep! I'm happy, you know but I'm not going to say he's not, he is.
"When I say he's a mini Pep, he is, so to speak, he is going to put his own sauce in it, as you can see. He's very different in certain ways, but the tactics are virtually the same."
Arsenal fans appear to be enraged by his comments with many taking to social media to voice their displeasure in staunch defence of their manager.
Here are some of the Tweets from Arsenal fans.
One user said: "Arteta is living Henry's dream, don't expect less from him. He will never speak good of our gaffer, all I know is that Arteta is 10,000 better than him as a coach. He was sacked at Monaco, now he coaches under 21 France. He's just learning, Arteta has learned already"
