Spanish-born Nigerian striker Samuel Omorodion, who previously played for newly promoted Granada, has made a move to join La Liga giants Atletico Madrid.
Omorodion's transfer to Atletico Madrid comes with a five-year contract, which will keep him at the club until 2028.
The 19-year-old, who was born in Melilla to Nigerian parents, moved to Maracena, Granada, Andalusia at a young age. He joined Granada CF's youth setup in 2021, after playing for AD Nervión.
Omorodion had his senior debut with the reserves on 6 March 2022, when he came on as a second-half substitute in a 2-1 Segunda División RFEF home loss to CD Marchamalo. He scored his first goal on 25 September, equalizing for the Bs in a 1-1 draw at CD El Ejido.
After establishing himself as a regular with the B-side, Omorodion renewed his contract with the Nazaríes until 2028 on 20 April 2023. He then made his first-team debut in La Liga on 14 August, starting and scoring the equalizer in a 3-1 away loss against Atlético Madrid. However, on Monday, 21 August 2023, Omorodion officially joined Atlético Madrid, another La Liga.
