The 29-year-old defensive midfielder became the latest player to leave Liverpool after compatriot Roberto Firmino, who left the Reds as a free agent.

He put pen to paper on a three-year deal that will see him play for Ittihad until the summer of 2026.

The club confirmed the transfer through their social media accounts as Fabinho's move ended his five-year romance with Liverpool.

"The signing is part of Ittihad's efforts to reinforce the team with outstanding players, who will support their journey in the upcoming phase which includes multiple domestic and international competitions," the club said of Fabinho's signing.

Fabinho, who played 219 games and scored 11 goals for Liverpool, joined an Ittihad team that had already signed former Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema and Chelsea's legend N'Golo Kante.
