With the 2023-24 English Premier League set to get underway tomorrow night and, in the weekend, Chelsea face Liverpool and Pochettino will be hoping to field a very strong XI to send a clear statement to their rivals this season.
According to transfer news from the last hours, Chelsea have made a big decision to try and hijack Liverpool's main target, Romeo Lavia. The blues have officially submitted a £48m bid for the Belgian and there is big belief around the club that the deal will be successful.
It was also reported last night that Chelsea have also made headway in their negotiations with Brighton and are now looking to secure their man in time for the game on Sunday - whether to play or to be unveiled.
These next hours are very crucial and if the club is successful with their latest moves, then we could have a double announcement of Lavia and Caicedo who will be more than ready to walk straight into the team to face Liverpool on Sunday.
This is how a Pochettino XI for the match could look.
We could have three debutants with Robert Sanchez in goal, Lavia and Caicedo in midfield together with Enzo in a 3-man midfield. Colwill and Thiago Silva could be flanked by the new captain and vice-captain, James and Chilwell. Upfront, Mudryk, Madueke and Jackson could be charged to lead the attack.
