Manchester United are reportedly in dialogue with Real Sociedad to sell Donny van de Beek this summer.
After shining at Ajax, the 26-year-old sealed a move to Old Trafford three years ago in a deal worth £35million plus £5million in add-ons.
Van de Beek came off the bench and scored in his competitive debut for United in their 3-1 defeat to Crystal Palace.
However, his involvement went on to become very sporadic as he made just four Premier League starts in his first season.
Just two more inclusions in top flight starting XIs have followed since then, with most of his appearances coming off the bench.
It now seems as though United are ready to cut their losses with Van de Beek and sanction a sale this summer.
As reported by the Manchester Evening News, they're talking to La Liga side Real Sociedad about a move.
New arrivals at United, who have already made three signings in the window, are said to be 'largely dependent' on sales.
Van de Beek could therefore be one player who heads to the exit this summer, bringing an end to his struggles at the club.
The midfielder missed half of last season as a result of a knee injury that he suffered in their 3-0 win over Bournemouth in January.
He has featured for United in pre-season though, scoring once and assisting another two goals across four appearances.
Van de Beek, who has two competitive goals for the club to his name, may not be the only midfielder to leave this summer though.
West Ham are showing an interest in Scott McTominay and talkSPORT understands United want £40million for him.
