Twitter users have dug out an old tweet of a ministerial nominee, Bosun Tijani where he described the former President, Muhammadu Buhari as a sick and disconnected man who lacked the ability to rule Nigeria.
Tijani, a Co-founder and CEO of Nigeria's biggest tech hub, Co-Creation Hub made the second batch of President Bola Tinubu's ministerial list on Wednesday.
Tijani had in a tweet on his official handle, said the former president was not qualified to lead a nation like Nigeria, citing the economic situation of the country then.
He wrote, "the honest men and women around Buhari should help us understand why they will give their lives for a sick and disconnected man to rule Nigeria. At all costs. Please explain how Buhari is qualified to lead a nation like Nigeria. Please help us understand".
Sharing the old tweet on Thursday, Buhari's former aide, Bashir Ahmad told Tijani to use the opportunity of being part of the present administration to ensure that the challenges bedeviling the country are tackled.
He wrote, "Congratulations and welcome onboard the Healthiest, Connected, and Qualified One.
Some tweeter users replied as follows:
"I hope the President will assign at least 2/3 of the ministries for you since you already know the button that needs to be pressed to get everything fixed in this country.
"I am optimistic that all our lingering challenges will be addressed the minute you are inaugurated as the Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria".
Other tweeps who shared the tweet, expressed pessimism that the present administration may be worst.
