In a recent live broadcast, Alhaji Asari Mujahid Dokubo, the king of the Kalabari kingdom, confidently maintained his innocence and fearlessly addressed the possibility of arrest in connection with Siminalayi Fubara, the governor of Rivers State.
Dokubo made it clear that he has not caused any harm to Governor Fubara and expressed his readiness to face any legal proceedings. Emphasizing the importance of adhering to the law, he advised the governor to seek accurate information about people's actions.
The Kalabari king expressed his dedication to praying for peace in Rivers State and conveyed his hopes for a prosperous future with increased income and new investments in the region.
While acknowledging that their actions support the governor's efforts, Dokubo accepted the need for accountability in case of any criminal behavior. However, he remained steadfast in his belief that the judicial system would ultimately vindicate him.
Despite issuing threats, Dokubo stressed the importance of maintaining calm in the region and avoiding actions that could escalate tensions.
"I have nothing to apologize for to the governor of Rivers State," declared Dokubo, urging Governor Fubara to abide by the rules and gather accurate data on individuals' behavior.
"We must pray for lasting peace in Rivers State," he added, expressing optimism about the state's economic growth and improved standard of living, which would attract new businesses.
Regarding the possibility of facing legal consequences for their actions, Dokubo confidently stated, "If the governor considers what we're doing to be unlawful, then the law should take its course. I have nothing to fear; if I'm thrown in jail, the law will set me free."
