Lionel Messi's wife Antonela Roccuzzo has appeared to confirm the meaning behind the star's new celebration.
The celebration made headlines following Inter Miami's 4-0 win over Atlanta United earlier this week where Messi netted twice for his new club.

After securing his double, Messi was seen celebrating in a fashion unseen during his long and illustrious career.
Messi aimed an open hand celebration to his wife and three children who were sitting pitchside and whilst they all clearly got the gist of it, fans were left wondering what its meaning was.
Many presumed Messi was gesturing a 'hold my beer' celebration to wife Antonella but she has since hinted at something different.
She took to Instagram on Thursday posting an image of Messi performing the celebration alongside a Thor-related GIF.
Therefore, it appears that Messi's eldest son Thiago is a huge Marvel fan with Thor credited as his favourite superhero and his dad wanted to pay homage by holding out his hand like the Asgardian god of thunder.
Messi can be seen smiling after the celebration as can David Beckham who enjoyed the goal and subsequent freeze frame from his new signing.
The Argentine's arrival has been a huge coup for both Beckham and MLS with eyes now firmly fixed on the US soccer league.
Messi was recently joined by former Barcelona teammates Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba as Inter Miami begin their quest to climb off the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings.
