Veteran Nigerian singer, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has revealed the weird thing he would do if the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, wins at the election tribunal.
The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Tinubu, was declared the winner of the Febuary 25th presidential election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and was subsequently sworn in as president on May 29.
Peter Obi and his party, including the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, are currently challenging the victory of President Tinubu in court.
In a post shared on Twitter, Charly Boy vowed to walk naked on the street of Bourdillon to Falomo if the former governor of Anambra State wins at the Tribunal.
He wrote, "When Tribunal announce say Peter Obi don win even before the case reach Supreme Court, wetin you go do dat day?
"For me,I go naked waka from one end of Bodillon to Falomo [sic]"
Labour Party, Peter Obi Accuse INEC Of Electoral Fraud
Meanwhile, Peter Obi has claimed that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is turning a blind eye to electoral fraud and wasting the country's resources.
In their final statement submitted to the Presidential Election Petitions Court on July 23, 2023, Obi and the Labour Party stated that if the court does not hold INEC accountable for conducting elections fairly and independently, elections in Nigeria will continue to be tainted.
The Labour Party and Obi criticized INEC for neglecting its main duty of overseeing elections fairly and instead favouring certain candidates in the elections it conducted.
They pointed out that INEC devoted a substantial part of its address to defending the qualifications of the 2nd respondent (Tinubu).
