Manchester United are considering a fresh move for Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane.
Reports claimed that Manchester United are weighing up a new approach for the England international after learning more about his situation.
United backed away from a possible move in early June, fearing Tottenham would be impossible to deal with.
However, a decision from Tottenham owner Joe Lewis has reportedly overruled chairman Daniel Levy.
Harry Kane now could be sold.
Tottenham chairman Joe Lewis has decided Kane must be sold and cannot be allowed to let his contract run down and leave on a free transfer.
Spurs would obviously prefer Kane to sign a new deal, however, this currently looks unlikely.
Lewis does not want to lose the club's top asset for free, and has told Levy that Kane must be sold if he does not renew his deal. Levy was 'adamant' he did not want to sell him.
Now sensing Kane could be available, Manchester United are interested once again.
The report states: "Old Trafford officials are now pondering a fresh move, with a potential £100m fee not necessarily a stumbling block."
Wage issue
The report does suggest that Kane's salary demands could be awkward, as they would make him the club's highest earner, at a time where the club are trying to move towards more parity.
However, it's hard to imagine this would actually stop the club getting a deal done for Kane, if it were possible.
Bayern Munich also hold interest and have been pursuing the England ace, their problem is raising the funds to meet Tottenham's asking price.
United's funds are limited too, but money is expected from player sales over the next few weeks.
While there is a chance to get Kane, this could complicate United's plan to land Rasmus Hojlund too, at a time where the club desperately just need to get a striker in. Swift decisions need to be made.
The one counter there, is that Spurs boss Ante Postecoglou wants a resolution quickly too. If Kane is to be sold, they need time to buy replacements. Nobody wants any potential deal to drag onto deadline day like the Dimitar Berbatov, which ruined already frosty relations between United and Spurs in the first place, way back in 2008.
