Tony Okocha, a former chief of staff in Rivers State and leader of the All Progressives Congress, has claimed that the PDP's incompetence in the region aided his party in the presidential election.
This was said by Tony Okocha, a well-known outspoken person, to reporters in Abuja yesterday.
Remember that the People's Democratic Party leadership and Nyesom Wike got into a fight prior to the 2023 general elections, which led to Wike working against former vice president and party standard bearer Alhaji Atiku Abubakar's bid for the presidency.
Tony Okocha responded, stating that neither Amaechi nor Abe worked for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and that Tinubu should promote Nyesom Wike to the position of minister. The foolishness of PDP is what gave us a boost in Rivers State. The former governor of my state and spin doctor Wike is at the core of it. PDP has found refuge in Rivers State ever since it was founded there in 1998. It has consistently won elections. The PDP still beat us in Rivers even when we were in power.
"Wike gave instructions to his PDP family because they were unable to choose a candidate," he said. They came to work with APC, and because I was the arrowhead of APC, it was me they came to work with.
