'It's Too Much' - Actor Aki Addresses Those Who Beg

Nigerian actor Chinedu Ikedieze, popularly known as Aki, has expressed his frustration over the excessive begging that takes place in his Instagram direct messages (DM).

In a video shared on his Instagram page, the actor pleaded with Nigerians to refrain from using his DMs as a platform to solicit financial assistance.

Aki expressed his discontent with the growing trend and emphasized that he too has responsibilities and financial obligations to fulfill.

According to him, if he were to fulfil every monetary request he receives, he would go broke.

"Guys I'm angry; I'm not happy," he began. "This thing is getting out of hand.

"How can you people turn my DM into the bank of industry? Every time I open my DM, it's begging.

"Jesus, it's too much. The way you guys beg is as if we don't have responsibilities. If I start to share the money like that, it will finish. Whenever I open my DM, it's all kind of begging.

"Imagine someone was begging me for $35,000; that's approximately N20-something million. Another one was asking for $12,000 to open his shop.

"It's not just Nigerians. You make it look like we have this money stashed somewhere and it's a must we cater for your needs.

"This economic crunch is biting everyone; it's biting every tom, dick and harry. Please take it easy."
