Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu rewards record-breaking law student, Ojo Aminat Yusuf, for graduating with a 5.0 CGPA in Lagos State University.
Sanwo-Olu gave Yusuf, who secured a CGPA of 5.0, the cash prize on Thursday during the institution's 26th convocation event in the Lagos State neighborhood of Ojo-Iyana Iba.
For Yusuf, who set a record at LASU that had stood for 40 years, the governor announced personal donations of N5 million and another N5 million from the Lagos State government.
The student's brilliant accomplishment was also recognized by the Oniba of the Iba Kingdom in Lagos, Oba Sulaimon Adeshina Raji, granted her N2 million and pledged to fully finance her through law school.
Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, LASU's vice chancellor, had previously stated last week that Yusuf will receive a financial prize of N500,000.
According to Mrs. Olatunji-Bello, the institution graduated 10,183 students, with 282 of them receiving a First Class in their respective fields.
