Arsenal have submitted a bid of around £60million to sign Chelsea star Kai Havertz after agreeing personal terms with the German.
The Gunners had an opening bid of around £45m rejected by Chelsea, but there's optimism on both sides that an agreement can be reached.
Havertz has two years left on his deal at Stamford Bridge but he's keen on a move to the Emirates and has already agreed a salary of around £210,000-a-week to move across London.
And the Daily Mail say that a deal is progressing quickly after Arsenal verbally submitted an improved £60m bid for the Germany international.
The offer is believed to be worth an initial £55m, with an extra £5m in add-ons.
Arsenal have submitted a £30m bid for Ajax star Jurrien Timber, while West Ham have also rejected a £80m bid for Declan Rice.
Mikel Arteta wants to add greater strength in depth to his squad after the side's form collapsed during the title run-in.
Chelsea need to raise funds after spending £600m across the last two transfer windows.
Mauricio Pochettino wants to sign a traditional no9 and is happy to let Havertz go.
The likes of Hakim Ziyech, Kalidou Koulibaly and Edouard Mendy are expected to move to Saudi Arabia, while Mason Mount is a target for Manchester United.
