Chelsea forward Kai Havertz is reportedly of interest to Real Madrid this summer.
The La Liga giants could be set to prepare for the departure of star striker Karim Benzema.
It was suggested on Thursday that the Frenchman would announce he is leaving the club this summer.
During his press conference though, he refused to confirm where he would be playing his football next season amid links with a move to Saudi Arabia.
Madrid may therefore need to begin drafting up plans to find his replacement for the new campaign.
Harry Kane's has been linked with move to the Santiago Bernabeu as his deal at Tottenham expires next summer.
However, Spanish outlet Relevo report that Chelsea's Havertz is a player they could go for if a move for Kane is unfeasible.
The German international would cost less than the England captain, with Spurs seeking around £100million.
New Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino 'wouldn't mind' if Havertz left for another club as the 23-year-old is not a priority for him.
Thanks to his versatility in attack he could also be an ideal replacement for Marco Asensio, who is set to sign for Paris Saint-Germain.
Havertz has just concluded his third season at Chelsea since he signed from Bayer Leverkusen for £72m.
He netted nine goals across all competitions, making him the joint top scorer at the Blues with Raheem Sterling.
Despite having inconsistent form in front of goal, Havertz's most memorable moment in a Chelsea shirt so far is his winning goal against Manchester City in the 2021 Champions League final.
Madrid could very well make a move for him in the summer transfer window, especially if club legend Benzema decides to leave.
