Joao Felix will not be making his move to Chelsea permanent this summer amid the arrival of Mauricio Pochettino.
The Portuguese forward signed for the Blues on loan from Atletico Madrid in the January transfer window.
He played 20 games across the Premier League and Champions League at Chelsea, scoring four goals.
Just a day after the campaign's conclusion, Pochettino was announced as the west London side's new manager.
He has taken little time to get started it seems, with the Argentine already deciding he doesn't want to keep Felix for next season.
Atletico president Enrique Cerezo revealed: "We have been informed that Pochettino does not count with Joao Félix for Chelsea.
"He will return here, we'll see... we've nothing planned."
Felix had a dramatic start to life at Chelsea as he was sent off on his debut in their 2-1 loss against Fulham.
However on his return to the side, he scored his first goal against West Ham, with his other strikes coming against Everton, Bournemouth and Manchester United.
Amid speculation he could make his move permanent, the 23-year-old recently said he has loved his time at Chelsea.
However, Newcastle are said to be the only club willing to pay Atletico's asking price of around £89.9million for the forward.
Felix is set to be one of a number of stars leaving Chelsea this summer, and talkSPORT understands they could sell five homegrown stars in the coming weeks.
New signings are also likely to be made, with report Pochettino wants to bring Sporting Lisbon midfielder Manuel Ugarte to Stamford Bridge amid negotiations.
The Uruguayan could very well be the first arrival of Chelsea's new era, with Pochettino set to officially being his role on July 1.
