Manchester United defender, Diogo Dalot, has opened up on compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo's departure from the Red Devils last November.
Ronaldo's contract with Man United was mutually terminated after his explosive interview with British broadcaster Piers Morgan.
The Portugal captain slammed Man United's hierarchy and manager Erik ten Hag in the interview and eventually parted ways with the Premier League club.
The former Real Madrid forward then joined Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr FC.
Speaking about Ronaldo, Dalot acknowledged Ronaldo and Man United's decision to part ways, saying (via MaisFutebol) that the team wanted him to be with them.
"We know the quality that Cristiano [Ronaldo] brings. It was a mutual decision of him and Manchester United, and we had to accept it," Dalot said.
"We wanted Cristiano to be with us. He gave us a lot in the time he was with us. "
He added,
"It's up to me to enjoy his football, and I know that no matter how much his longevity doesn't come, he has this ability to give a show and enjoy."
