Tottenham caretaker manager Cristian Stellini has provided the reason for subbing off Davinson Sanchez after the defender was brought in the 35th minute to replace the injured Clement Lenglet.
Tottenham was leading 1-0 when Sanchez was introduced in the 35th minute, thanks to Heung-min Son's effort.
It was Dango Ouattara's stoppage-time effort that sealed a 3-2 win for the Cherries in north London.
Bournemouth cancelled out Son's strike three minutes after Sanchez's introduction with Pedro Porro caught in possession after receiving the ball from Sanchez.
Sanchez then turned the ball into Dominic Solanke's path for the visitors' second.
It appeared to all that the player was hauled off just 28 minutes after he was brought on because of his poor performance with Stellini deciding to replace him with striker Arnaut Danjuma.
But Stellini explained post-match that he made the change for tactical reasons.
"I take the responsibility for the decision we made. I thought it was early in the game to use a striker more because it was the first half and we were one up, so I didn't think it was the moment to change with a striker.
"After, when we were 2-1 down I thought it was the moment. Davinson has to know it was only a tactical decision..."
