Graham Potter will receive about £13million in compensation after Chelsea sacked him on Sunday.
It takes the amount Blues co-owner Todd Boehly has spent on managerial costs to over £50m in the last nine months.
Chelsea paid a Premier League record of £22m to Brighton to land Potter and his staff in September, after giving Thomas Tuchel a pay-off of £10m.
Potter has earned around £7m in salary during his brief spell in charge.
All these will increase the need for a quickfire sale of squad members this summer, in order to comply with the Premier League's spending rules.
Last week, the Stamford Bridge side published losses of £121m for the 2021/22 season.
That figure did not include the £550m spent on new players since the summer.
