Siweifushe, a Beijing-based company, invents a kissing device called MUA to address loneliness experienced by couples in long-distance relationships.
The MUA, which is named after the sound of blowing a kiss, is a long-distance kissing machine that collects users' kiss data through motion sensors hidden in its silicon lips.
The device also captures and replays sound and slightly warms up during kissing to make the experience more authentic. The MUA can be used with an accompanying app, and users can even download kissing data submitted by other users.
The device was inspired by the lockdown isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic, and it was released on January 22, 2023, priced at 260 yuan ($38).
In just two weeks after its release, Siweifushe sold over 3,000 kissing devices and received about 20,000 orders.
The MUA resembles a mobile stand with colourless pursed lips, and it is available in several colours with the same unisex lips. Although the MUA is not the first remote kissing device, it is a popular and innovative solution to address the lack of physical intimacy in long-distance relationships.
