Kingsley Celestino, a businessman, was apprehended by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) operatives with almost 10kg of heroin at Terminal 2 of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja Lagos.
The agency reported that he was found to be carrying 9.40 kilograms of heroin, which had been concealed in false bottoms of his two travelling bags.
Mr. Celestino, who is originally from Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State, was travelling with a Guinean international passport as a business class passenger on a Qatar Airlines flight to India.
According to the agency's Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, preliminary investigation suggests that Mr. Celestino frequently travels to India on business class tickets and claims to be involved in a clothing business between Nigeria and India.
It was also discovered that he obtained his Guinean international passport in Guinea Bissau, where he stated that his mother was from.
