Chelsea's hierarchy consider Thomas Tuchel's return impossible as they continue to stand by Graham Potter, according to reports.
Potter is under huge pressure at Stamford Bridge as the 1-0 defeat to Southampton on Saturday has left Chelsea with just one win in their last 10 games.
Chelsea currently sit 10th in the Premier League and 11 points behind fourth-placed Tottenham, while they must overturn a 1-0 defeat to Borussia Dortmund in order to progress further in the Champions League.
Despite Chelsea's below-par performances, the club's board are understood to be standing behind Potter and believe he is the right man to improve the situation.
Chelsea supporters have already sang Tuchel's name during games this season, with a section of fans believing that the decision to sack the German in September was the wrong move.
However, the Evening Standard reports that the idea of Tuchel returning to Chelsea is 'impossible' as the club's hierarchy 'grew frustrated' with how the German worked.
The report also claims that Paris Saint-Germain are considering the idea of re-appointing Tuchel to replace Christophe Galtier.
PSG sacked Tuchel just over two years ago but the French club are now said to be willing to admit that they made a mistake.
Tuchel, who is currently out of work after he was dismissed by Chelsea earlier this season, would need assurances before agreeing to return to PSG.
Towards the end of his stint at PSG, Tuchel had fallen out with sporting director Leonardo but he was replaced by Luis Campos last year.
PSG are currently five points clear at the top of Ligue 1 but elimination in the Coupe de France and a defeat in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie against Bayern Munich last week has piled the pressure on Galtier.
