Manchester United are yet to make a decision over their priority transfer target this summer with Erik ten Hag set to choose between Harry Kane or Victor Osimhen, according to reports.
United, who brought in Wout Weghorst as a short-term solution in January, have made the signing of a new striker their focus for the next transfer window.
The Telegraph reports that Kane and Osimhen are the two players who currently top United's shortlist, while Ten Hag is still determining which striker would work best in his system at Old Trafford.
The report claims that Ten Hag has been keeping tabs on Osimhen's performances for Napoli since the start of the season but is 'unsure' over some parts of the 24-year-old's game.
Meanwhile, it's claimed that Ten Hag understands that Kane offers a 'unique skillset' and would be a 'strong character' at United.
However, both Kane and Osimhen are likely to cost United at least £100 million this summer but the Nigeria international would offer Ten Hag a longer-term solution if he proves to be a success.
Kane will have just a year left on his contract at the end of the season but Tottenham are still demanding a high price tag for the England captain, while Spurs chairman Daniel Levy would prefer to sell the 29-year-old to a club outside of the Premier League.
Napoli would also command in excess of £100m for Osimhen, who is the top scorer in Serie A this season with 16 goals for Napoli. Since joining the Italian club from Lille in a €81.3m (£72.4m) deal in 2020, Osimhen has scored 45 goals in 83 appearances.
Elsewhere, The Telegraph also claims that United have shelved plans to sign Benjamin Sesko as they believe the 19-year-old, who is due to join RB Leipzig from Red Bull Salzburg this summer, is 'not ready' to become Ten Hag's leading striker.
Former Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham, who has scored 34 goals in 81 games since joining Roma in 2021, is regarded by United as a back-up option.
