Former Paris Saint-Germain winger, Jerome Rothen, has hit out at Manchester United defender Raphael Varane for retiring from international football at the age of 29.
Varane's shock retirement came on Thursday as he brought the curtain down on his decade-long international career with France's national team, which saw him earn 93 caps for Les Bleus.
The former Real Madrid star put his retirement down to 'physical and psychological wear and tear'.
But Rothen is far from happy with Varane's decision, describing the centre-back as a disaster.
"I think that at this age [29] and when you play in a club that allows you to be at a very high level, you have a duty," Rothen said, as quoted by Football Espana.
"It is to bring your talent to your country. He is a disaster!"
