adidas have completely run out of Lionel Messi's Argentina No.10 shirt in the lead up the Qatar 2022 final.
The football icon will have his final shot at World Cup glory on Sunday as La Albiceleste take on France - live on talkSPORT - but fans won't be able to get their hands on a new strip for the occasion.
From Buenos Aires to Doha and around the rest of the world and in every size imaginable, the sky blue and white strip with the superstar's name emblazoned on the back is out of stock.
adidas, who have long been partnered with Argentina's national team, have confirmed it is impossible to increase production overnight to replenish a product that it knew would do very well.
And they also confessed they didn't expect the shirts to sell as much as much as they have in stores and online sales.
The shortage has triggered the production and sales of counterfeits, leading the Argentina Football Association to respond to the issue a few days ago, saying: "We can't do anything about it, although it's in our interest to sell more.
"It is a matter of adidas and there are problems in the country that affect them, such as the obstacles to imports and the lack of manpower, as well as the high level of public anger."
According to Spanish outlet Marca, the German brand is working against the clock in the event of Messi winning the tournament this weekend to have as many of what will be commemorative shirts with the superstar's name on as possible.
But regardless of the result against the reigning world champions, the Argentina skipper's strip will still be highly sought after given it'll be his last World Cup fixture for La Seleccion.
We don't even want to think how much one of those bad boys would sell for on eBay right now.
