Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag has revealed his discussions with the club before he took the job.
Ten Hag was appointed permanent manager to replace Ralf Rangnick who was caretaker boss until the end of the season.
This week, the Dutchman took his biggest decision yet, after he dropped Cristiano Ronaldo from his squad to face Chelsea.
It comes after Ronaldo, who was an unused substitute, left Old Trafford early during their 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday night.
Ten Hag was given full backing by club chiefs to punish Ronaldo.
The 52-year-old has now revealed he made clear his demands of players when he interviewed for the job earlier this year.
"When I got appointed, I talked to the directors about the culture, top sport culture, standards and that is why they appointed me.
"They did some background and we had talks about how I lead, what my personality is and how I do it in a strategic way and about my standards and leadership," Ten Hag said.
