The recent quarterly update of the Oxford English dictionary has gotten inputs from Sir Alex Ferguson and Jose Mourinho.
Phrases from Ferguson and Mourinho who are one of the most influential managers in English football history have been added to the Oxford English Dictionary.
Ferguson's infamous 'squeaky bum time' was added in the quarterly update of the dictionary, alongside Mourinho's much-discussed defensive tactic of 'parking the bus.' In all, 15 words or phrases associated with football were added to the dictionary.
Ferguson who was a successful manager at Manchester United, first said 'squeaky bum time' in a press conference in 2003 when discussing Arsenal's end to the season.
AS Roma's current coach Jose Mourinho who is known for his tactical prowess, game management, and adaptability to different situations, coined the 'parking the bus' phrase when criticizing Tottenham for setting up in a similar fashion against his team in the 2004-05 season.
