Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag, has explained why he left Cristiano Ronaldo out of Monday night's crunch game against Liverpool.
Ronaldo is not named in Ten Hag's starting XI along with captain Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw.
The Dutchman is in search of his first win in charge of the Red Devils and has said he chose a front line that can press Jurgen Klopp's men.
On dropping Cristiano Ronaldo, Ten Hag said:
"We know Liverpool are a really good team and you need to press them.
"You have to do that out of a block and need energy, that is why we went with Rashford, Sancho, Elanga
"I am aware this is the biggest game in the UK, I am very excited to be in this game."
