Chelsea has made a shock enquiry about Manchester United captain, Harry Maguire, according to Daily Mail.
This comes amid growing doubt over Maguire's future at Old Trafford.
The England international is sweating on his place in Erik ten Hag's starting XI for Monday's crunch clash against Liverpool.
However, he has emerged as a target for Chelsea, who is struggling to complete a deal for Leicester's Wesley Fofana.
The Blues have raised the possibility of taking Maguire as part of United's attempts to sign Christian Pulisic.
It is understood a move for Fofana remains Chelsea's priority, and there was growing optimism on Friday that a deal for the French defender could finally take place next week after the centre-half requested to be left out of Leicester's game against Southampton Saturday.
