Football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, has revealed why Chelsea co-owner, Todd Boehly travelled to Barcelona on Thursday.
Boehly was pictured arriving in Barcelona on Thursday night amid reports of crunch transfer talks with the Catalan club.
Potential deals for Frenkie de Jong, Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso are all being touted as Chelsea look to rebuild Thomas Tuchel's squad ahead of the new season.
However, according to Romano, Boehly wanted to schedule a meeting with Barcelona to get to know the LaLiga giants in person and discuss many topics.
Romano tweeted on Thursday night, "Chelsea owner Todd Boehly wanted to schedule a meeting with Barcelona to know them in person and discuss many topics. Barça ask for Marcos Alonso & Azpilicueta after personal terms agreed
"Barça don't want to pay too high a fee as both are out of contract next year.
"The meeting between Todd Boehly and the Barcelona board for Azpilicueta, Marcos Alonso and other topics is scheduled in the coming hours.
"Boehly will directly take care of the negotiations as always - both Azpi and Alonso have an agreement with Barça. Up to Chelsea now."
